The Okavango Delta is one of those iconic places that is a must to see when in Africa. This oasis in an otherwise desert country is a heaven for wildlife. In the dryer months of the year it is an exceptional place to see elephants. The Delta hosts all of Africa’s finest creatures including Africa’s rarest. We will venture into the heart of the Delta and visit Moremi National Park, spending a night in the park to get a true feel of the wildlife that inhabits this fantastic environment.
Chobe National Park
This Wildlife Park hosts all of Africa’s finest wildlife and it probably has the greatest population of elephants in Africa. The population can fluctuate from 50 000 to 100 000 depending on the season. We get to enjoy a game drive in the park and finish the day with a game cruise on the magnificent Chobe river. Our game cruise on the river gives us a different view of the wildlife that habituates the park and allows us to see hippos and crocodiles much closer than from a vehicle.
We stay at the town that has one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. The Zambezi River that flows into the Victoria Falls offers you the opportunity to do all though adventure activities that you dreamed of all in the one location. White Water Rafting, Bungee Jumping, Cruises and Canoeing are just a few of the activities on offer during your stay at Victoria Falls. You may not be up for all the adventure activities and may just enjoy the many hotel restaurants and meals on offer in this iconic town.
Hwange National Park
This is the largest Game Reserve in Zimbabwe and forms part of the traditional migration paths of elephants that would travel from Hwange to the Okavango Delta and back again. This park falls on the edge of the Kalahari desert and has a mixture of environments from open savannah to unique teak forests. With water holes scattered through the park allowing intrepid naturalists the chance to sit back and enjoy the theater that presents itself to the water holes.
Matopos/Matobo Hills National Park
This park provides us with a different experience than your average National Park. Here we delve into the history that makes this park so special. Rhodes is buried in the park at a place called the ‘View of the World’ and is truly spectacular. It is also decorated with thousands of bushman caves and is one of the last places in Africa where you can get the chance to get close and personal to rhinos. However devastating the current situation is with rhino poaching our guides will endeavour to get you close and personal to these now rare creatures.
