Zanzibar has rich history and culture and was its own country until it became amalgamated with Tanganyika in 1964 to become Tanzania. Livingstone started many of his endeavours into Africa from the Island of Zanzibar and for nearly 1000 years it was a melting pot for Arabic and African cultures. This blend of Arabic and African culture can be seen in Stone Town’s Architecture. It became one of the leading exporters of cloves and is known as the Spice Island. It’s darker side hides the history of slavery and ivory trading. The history of Zanzibar can be felt and enjoyed when visiting the local food markets in the heart of Stone Town, when the sun goes down and locals come out to feast.
Away from the city of Stone Town you can enjoy the beauty of Zanzibar’s beaches. Stay at one of the many resorts along its beaches and enjoy the beach life. This is a fantastic way to end your Kenya safari.
There is no better place to finish your safari in Africa than with a few days in Cape Town! With Table Mountain as it’s back drop you can enjoy the wonderful food and wine on offer in this modern city in South Africa. It is a city full of history and there are loads of tours that you can do. Wine tasting in Stellenbosch, tours to Table Mountain and Robben Island, shopping in Waterfront and Shark Cage Diving are just some of the activities on offer in this picturesque city. We have great contacts in Cape Town and highly recommend a minimum of 3 night stay.
Why not compliment your Kenya Safari with additional Wildlife Parks in Tanzania? With the World famous Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater National Parks it is the perfect addition to a Safari in Kenya. The Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater and Maasai Mara all linked together to allow for great movement and migration of African wildlife. This huge expanse of land allows for some of the best wildlife viewing in all of Africa. If that doesn’t satisfy you we can add Tarangeri and Lake Manyara National parks to your Tanzanian adventure.
